Our administrators have diverse backgrounds that provide depth in a wide range of areas.

Janet B. Helton

LJH Ambulance is owned and operated by Jan Helton who is President and Chief Executive Officer of LJH Ambulance. Jan has over 40 years of medical experience within the greater Kenosha area. Originally trained as a nurse in 1956, she is certified as a paramedic in both Wisconsin and Illinois. During her nearly 20 years as a Paramedic, she has attained many certifications in her field, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) and Basic Trauma Life Support (B.T.L.S.). She has also been an instructor for both subjects. She was also trained in pediatric life support. Jan is an Emergency Medical Technician Lead Instructor and Field Coordinator for the Emergency Medical Services Curriculum at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha. Her duties include acting as lead instructor for the Emergency Medical Technician Basic classes and for EMT refresher classes. She is also a training coordinator for the American Heart Association, and a member of the regional faculty for the American Heart Association for southeastern Wisconsin. Jan has also instructed the Paramedic program at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan Illinois. Additionally, she has served on various committees, including the State of Wisconsin Paramedic Licensure Committee and is past Chairman of the Kenosha EMS Advisory Council.

Jan has worked with, and been employed by private ambulance services for over 20 years. Her extensive experience with both land and air ambulance service brings extensive knowledge and experience to LJH Ambulance, that other services just can not provide. She used the knowledge gained from her experience to assist in her management of LJH Ambulance.

Janet is responsible for all aspects of the company's operation, maintaining a hands-on approach in matters dealing with patient care, staff qualifications, education and staff recruiting.

Larry Helton

The co-owner of LJH Ambulance is Jan's husband Larry. Larry has been affiliated with the transportation industry for 35 years. To ensure a strong foundation Larry offers to the business advisement in matters both operational and non-operational. He oversees the maintenance of all vehicles, ensuring that our equipment performs to desired expectations.

Terry Helton

Reporting directly to Janet Helton as Vice President is Terry Helton. Terry is responsible for many of the business aspects of the company's operations including accounting, insurance, payroll, and purchasing. He acts as a consultant to the business in matters of operational and non-operational significance. Terry possesses a Master's Degree in Business Administration.

Additionally, Terry has worked in the insurance industry and has experience in personal and corporate financial planning. These experiences and educational achievements have given him significant exposure to the business realm.

Terry is certified as a paramedic in both Wisconsin and Illinois, and is also a critical care paramedic. He is an instructor in C.P.R, Advancesd Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.), and Basic Trauma Life Support (B.T.C.S.). This allows Terry to remain familiar with the operational aspects of LJH Ambulance. Terry is past president of the Kenosha County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council, and is also firmly committed to providing the highest quality patient care at all times.
